WE’RE HERE TO HELP YOU
FCS is a gentle technique that allows our therapists to identify the source of pain or dysfunction and effectively release the restrictions at their source.
Gentle. Effective. Powerful. Restorative. Indirect. Holistic.
When the body detects a possible threat or harm, it goes into a protective response. The immediate response is inflammatory cytokines (messenger cells) are activated in the area. This causes a cascade of events.
- Lymphatic system in the local area shuts down to prevent possible infection.
- Fascia around the area (nerves, organs, vascular, muscles, bone…) changes from being flexible and adaptable into a contractile substance that holds the affected area firmly in place to limit damage.
- Nerves are activated to recruit muscles that are in a position to help protect the area. (Example: the hamstring will be recruited to protect the sciatic nerve)
- The area will stop working properly. Vascular function may be limited causing swelling or inhibition of strength, nerves may tighten up muscles, organs may slow down.
The Fascial Counterstrain technique consists of a manual scanning technique to identify specifically what area is stuck in a protective reflex. The technique to release this trapped inflammation and relax the reflex uses indirect glides and positioning. This non-invasive approach results in relief from pain, tightness, postural asymmetries, and other symptoms in the body.
At Horizon's Therapy, we recognize that the body functions as an interconnected system. A restriction or dysfunction in one area can have far-reaching effects on other parts of the body. Our therapists are trained to assess these connections through the fascial system, allowing us to provide comprehensive treatment tailored to your unique needs.
We believe that effective therapy begins with understanding you as an individual. Each session at Horizon's Therapy is dedicated to personal, one-on-one treatment. Our therapists take the time to listen attentively to your concerns, fully comprehend your physical condition, and assess your scope of limitations. This personalized approach ensures that the treatment is specific to each client. We understand that no two people will have the same pattern of compensation or restriction.
When you arrive for your appointment at Horizon's Therapy, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where your comfort is our priority. During your initial consultation, our therapist will conduct a thorough assessment of your condition and discuss any specific areas of concern you may have.
Once we have a clear understanding of your situation, we will guide you through the Fascial Counterstrain process. You will be positioned comfortably while our therapist gently applies techniques aimed at releasing tension and restoring balance within your body. Many clients report feeling immediate relief during their sessions, with lasting benefits extending well beyond each visit.
